- Old playgoers
Many old Hull playgoers will remember Stanley Willis-Croft who before the war, was a member of the Garret Players and Hull Playgoers. He was then employed by the Electricity Department, and during early days of the war helped to put on troop shows before he joined the RAF himself, in which he produced many shows in different theatres of war.
He took up the stage professionally after the war, was associated with Ralph Reader’s probuctions, and has now entered the realms of theatre management, in which he has been engaged for three years. He is responsible for the Somerset Maugham play “The Sacred Flame,” which is shortly coming to Hull and he is quite excited about his effort in his home town.
