    Notes
    • Georgetown Sawmill was established in 1875, seven miles south of Port Simpson, by George Williscroft with financial backing by Charles F. Morrison, a lay missionary, of Metlakatla. After the death of Williscroft in 1895, his brother Walter A. Williscroft operated the sawmill for three years for the trustees. In 1898, James A. Brown and Capt. W. Oliver took over until 1907 when Dr. W.T. Kergin, Haliburton Peck, Cyrus Peck, and Donald Moore bought it. During this period, the mill was operated by Walter H. Williscroft, son of George Williscroft. In 1918, the mill was leased and purchased in 1919 by George McAfee and H.R. McMillan under the name of Big Bay Lumber Co. Ltd. Weldon R. McAfee, the son of George McAfee, purchased the Georgetown site with W.R. McAfee and S.E. Sunbury as shareholders in 1933. James J. Donaldson was the proprietor from 1949 until he closed it in 1969; the mill was completely destroyed by fire in 1978. The site was sold ca. 1980 to a Mr. King. [22]
